Description
The CHC Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program is a full-time, 12-month supervised clinical training experience pairing new NPs with experienced preceptors. Residents assess and manage acute, episodic, and chronic patients; order laboratory and diagnostic tests; prescribe medications; coordinate referrals; and participate in health promotion, education, quality improvement, and research activities. Applicants must be eligible for permanent residency in the United States, complete credentialing, provide three letters of recommendation and a personal statement, hold a Massachusetts license and expanded Family Nurse Practitioner license, have CPR/AED certification, and obtain DEA, MCSR, and NPI credentials. A master’s or doctoral degree, Family Nurse Practitioner board certification, and 3–5 years of progressively responsible nursing experience are preferred.
