Description
The Nursing Attendant supports patient care in a 30-bed telemetry/observation unit serving cardiac, medical, and surgical patients. Responsibilities include completing activities of daily living, applying electrodes and attaching patients to monitors, performing 12-lead EKGs, observing and reporting patient changes, assisting with transfers and equipment, responding to call lights and emergencies, and transporting medications. The role follows a PRN schedule with a minimum of 24 hours off per six-week schedule, 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, and weekend and holiday work as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, while prior nursing-attendant, nurse-aide, or nursing-educational-program experience is required, along with Basic Life Support certification.
