Description
HDR is hiring an Office Engineer for its Field Services team to support infrastructure construction projects in the Rocky Hill, Connecticut area. The role involves interpreting construction drawings and specifications, maintaining daily records, reviewing materials and quantities, developing pay estimates, attending progress meetings, observing equipment installation and acceptance testing, managing nonconforming work and punchlists, documenting records, and assisting with project audits and closeout. The Office Engineer will supervise junior Resident Project Representatives, Construction Inspectors, testing services, and subconsultants under the Resident Engineer. A PE license is preferred; candidates without a PE license will be titled Resident Project Representative. The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction technology, or relevant experience, at least five years of progressive multidisciplinary construction experience, contract and code knowledge, construction-documentation skills, computer literacy, and strong communication skills.
