Description
The Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer is a specialist responsible for complex instrumentation and controls design, analysis, calculations, specifications, and project execution across oil and gas projects. The role may lead a discipline team or act as a Control Systems Lead Engineer for offshore projects, coordinating with engineering, procurement, fabrication, project management, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include design reviews, technical queries, change management, cost and schedule monitoring, audits, testing, commissioning support, and guidance of less experienced engineers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics and instrumentation engineering, 15–20 years of oil and gas experience, and preferably a registered professional engineer or professional engineering society membership.
