Astronomer is hiring an open-source software engineer to design, develop, and implement new Apache Airflow features and components. The role focuses on improving Airflow’s performance, resiliency, developer experience, code quality, and test coverage, while also contributing to the Airflow community, troubleshooting customer issues, and promoting Airflow at conferences. The position is full-time and remote, requiring at least five years of Python development experience, distributed-systems knowledge, complex-issue troubleshooting, automated testing, and strong communication skills.
