Metro is hiring an Operating Engineer I to support the safe and reliable operation of building systems at Portland’5 Centers for the Arts. The role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, fire safety, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and low-voltage infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting, with on-call event support primarily in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates need one year of relevant operating-engineer or maintenance-technician experience, a valid driver’s license, and availability for variable shifts; the starting rate is $40.70 per hour.
