Description
The Power Plant Operator operates the Sidney A Murray, Jr. Hydro Electric Station from the control room on a 24/7 rotating schedule, responding to alarms, operating generators through SCADA, performing lockout/tagout and high-voltage switching, conducting facility inspections, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assuming emergency duties when needed. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, extensive experience operating generating station equipment, basic first aid and CPR certification, computer and Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to lift more than 50 pounds repeatedly. An associate degree in electrical or electronics and process systems operations and maintenance training or experience are preferred. The salary is $55,000–$65,000 with a 5% target bonus.
