Description

Amazon Japan is hiring an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day logistics-site operations, including sorting and dispatch, safety, quality, performance, customer service, staffing, budgeting, and annual operating planning. The role manages approximately 20 to 300 associates, coaches and develops team members, coordinates with stakeholders and third-party logistics providers, and leads initiatives related to DEI, sustainability, and major events. The position is primarily daytime shift work with possible weekend, public holiday, and night-shift rotations.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 3 years of experience managing and improving the flow of people, goods, and money using numbers and metrics
Experience in a management role, including performance evaluation and talent development
Project management experience, including cross-department projects
Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience managing and improving the flow of people, goods, and money in manufacturing, logistics, or retail, including indirect management and manager development
Experience working with multiple part-time and temporary employees during peak season
Ability to handle changing priorities and make accurate decisions, along with a degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field, or an MBA
Bilingual Japanese and English skills
Positive attitude toward contributing to an inclusive culture and working with diverse groups
