Operations Team Associate at Belk

Description

The Operations Team Associate is responsible for driving sales and providing excellent customer service by accurately and efficiently processing inbound truck deliveries, preparing merchandise for sale, executing outbound activities, and supporting facility maintenance and organizational tasks. The associate works closely with the merchandising team to place products on the sales floor and contributes to a positive store culture.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrates ownership and initiative in achieving personal goals, store objectives, and daily priorities.
Efficiently unloads cartons from truck deliveries, separates cartons by department, processes, removes plastic, and hangs items as needed to ensure product readiness for the sales floor.
Completes sensor tag applications, product transfers, damage processing, and RFID tasks to support inventory accuracy.
Assists with facilities processes, including lighting/recycling programs, work orders, store maintenance, and housekeeping responsibilities.
Supports merchandising and store fulfillment teams with floor sets, product presentations, promotional sets, price changes, and picking and packing customer orders.
Maintains daily operational standards by replenishing supplies, supporting store recovery efforts, and ensuring cleanliness.
Leverages training tools, uses resources, and embraces feedback to build knowledge of operational processes and procedures and strengthens performance.
Enhances in-store customer experience by warmly acknowledging and assisting customers, supporting the store during peak traffic and coverage periods, and completing other tasks as assigned.
Contributes to a positive store culture by building connections with teammates, sharing knowledge, and celebrating individual and team achievements.
Follows asset protection procedures, safety guidelines, and security protocols, supporting store shortage control and minimizing risk.
Dedicated to customer service and driven to achieve store objectives.
Possesses skills and experience suitable for the role and committed to continuous learning.
Capable of taking ownership of assigned tasks and contributing to store success.
Self-directed and capable of working with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Comfortable with technology, including smartphones, tablet computers, and Windows-based operating systems.
Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must regularly move around all store areas and be accessible to customers.
Must bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 50 lbs.
