Description
The Operator I monitors and adjusts water or wastewater treatment plant and raw water pump station operations using instrumentation, laboratory tests, SCADA, and field observations. The role performs sampling, housekeeping, recordkeeping, minor preventative maintenance, safety and emergency response, and equipment monitoring under close supervision. It is an entry-level position requiring a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver’s license, and a Class D water or wastewater operator certificate within the first year of employment; the stated salary is $20.312 to $26.406 per hour with a third-shift differential of $3.00 per hour.
