Description

The Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician Assistant to train under close supervision while providing ophthalmic testing and clinical support to ophthalmologists. Duties include taking patient histories, measuring visual acuity and intraocular pressure, checking pupils and ocular motility, using slit lamps, assisting with office procedures, maintaining supplies and equipment, supporting clinical research, processing refills and prior authorizations, helping with scheduling, and responding to patient questions. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and obtaining Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification within 18 months; no prior experience is required. No evening or weekend work is required, and the role is located on the School of Medicine Campus.
