Description
The Ophthalmic Technician supports an ophthalmologist by providing patient care, verifying and documenting medical information, performing initial eye examinations and diagnostic tests, preparing patients for treatments and minor procedures, maintaining exam rooms, and coordinating clinic flow. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of related experience or training, HIPAA compliance, EMR proficiency, and the ability to work over 40 hours, including weekends when applicable. Current COA or COT certification is preferred but not required.
