Bright Silicon Technologies is hiring an Optical Communications Engineer to lead the architecture, programming, and implementation of modems and digital signal processing pipelines for Free-Space Optical flight terminals and space-to-ground mesh networks. The role covers high-speed modem firmware and software, forward error correction, optical transceiver integration, SDA standards compliance, and end-to-end system verification and flight testing. Candidates need a degree in a relevant technical field, hands-on modem and DSP experience, optical error-correction knowledge, transceiver and hardware experience, and U.S. Person status; airborne laser communications, research-institution collaboration, and C++, Python, or VHDL/Verilog proficiency are preferred.
