Coherent Corp. is hiring an optical design and development engineer to design, prototype, verify, troubleshoot, and improve fiber-optic systems and devices, including OTDR, OPS, OSA, and WSS-related technologies. The role supports product and process development, manufacturing transfer, supplier interaction, technology exploration, intellectual property generation, and cross-functional technical communication. It requires a master's degree in optics, physics, materials science, or an equivalent field, hands-on fiber-optical systems experience, optical design and testing expertise, scripting and data analysis ability, and independent problem-solving in a global team environment.
