Matter Intelligence is hiring an Optical Engineer to design, integrate, calibrate, and operate the optical path for an advanced electro-optic sensing payload. The role covers optical design, system trade studies, specifications, alignment, characterization, calibration, test equipment, environmental and flight testing, and root-cause analysis. Candidates need an advanced degree in a relevant field, optical-engineering experience, Zemax or equivalent software proficiency, stray-light analysis experience, and hands-on optical assembly and alignment experience. The position is based in El Segundo, California, and requires onsite work.
