Universal Quantum is hiring an Optical Engineer for its Hardware Engineering Group to support the development of commercial quantum computing systems. The role involves designing, assembling, aligning, troubleshooting, and characterizing optical and laser subsystems for trapped-ion experiments, integrating precision optical and opto-mechanical assemblies, developing optical test methods, and supporting electro-optical controls and beam delivery. Candidates should have around 10 years of relevant optical engineering experience, a relevant technical degree, and hands-on experience with lasers, optical instrumentation, alignment, and opto-electronic systems.
