Astera Labs is hiring an Optical FW/SW Engineer, Tech Lead to design, develop, and validate embedded firmware and supporting software for optical engines, optical modules, near-packaged optics, and co-packaged optics. The role covers C and Python development, optical control and calibration algorithms, telemetry and diagnostics, hardware bring-up, product validation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration with optical, electrical, DSP, systems, and manufacturing teams. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and 5–8 years of embedded firmware or software experience in optical, photonics, communications, semiconductor, or high-reliability products. The salary range is $160,000 to $200,000, with possible discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.
