Amazon is hiring an Optical Network Development Engineer to design, deploy, operate, and automate global DWDM networks for AWS infrastructure. The role includes scaling network designs, creating operational processes, reviewing network changes, improving reliability, troubleshooting complex problems, and supporting optical product development and lifecycle operations. Candidates need at least four years of major internet routing protocol, Linux/Unix, large DWDM network rollout and operations, and optical planning and modelling experience, plus automation scripting experience is preferred. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of 136,000 to 184,000 USD annually.
