Description
AWS is hiring an Optical Network Development Engineer to work on the Capacity Restoration Team’s optical transport restoration stack. The role troubleshoots and restores out-of-service DWDM capacity across backbone and metro networks, diagnoses optical impairments, coordinates physical-layer fault isolation, and builds Python-based automation and tooling for span validation, amplifier recovery, wavelength re-provisioning, monitoring, and alerting. The engineer will also maintain operational metrics, documentation, and on-call coverage while learning the team’s optical and IP architectures.
