Description
K2 is seeking an Optical Systems Engineer to contribute to defining how they design, manufacture, test, and deploy optics benches across their optical payload suite. This role involves involvement in every phase of the optical system's life cycle, from initial feasibility and architectural trade studies through manufacturing, ground testing, and on-orbit commissioning. The engineer will also collaborate with optical and satellite bus teams, prepare design reviews, forecast staffing needs, mentor junior engineers, and oversee manufacturing aspects such as evaluating equipment selection and developing factory layouts.
