Description
The Optical Technician dispenses and fits glasses and contact lenses from prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists, while supporting patients’ medical needs and retail sales. The role includes selecting frames, operating lensometers, collecting eye measurements, recommending lenses and coatings, dispensing orders, and repairing or adjusting frames. It requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of customer or patient interaction experience, Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to perform frequent physical activity; medical office and ophthalmic experience are preferred.
