Description
The Ophthalmic Technician supports optometrists by conducting preliminary patient assessments, performing diagnostic ophthalmic testing, administering medications, assisting with contact lens fittings, dispensing eyewear, maintaining equipment and infection-control standards, documenting in an electronic health record, and coordinating patient flow. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong clinical and customer-service skills, Microsoft Office and EHR proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced patient-care environment. Ophthalmic Technician, Optometric Technician, Medical Assistant, or related healthcare training is preferred, as is at least one year of relevant experience; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and pays $21-$24 per hour.
