The Optometric Technician (Doctor's Assistant) supports an optometrist by facilitating patient flow, assisting with preliminary testing, verifying medical and vision insurance, communicating with patients and staff, and operating optical equipment such as autorefractors, retinal cameras, visual field devices, and OCT systems. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, customer service ability, and at least one year of customer or patient-facing experience; previous medical or ophthalmic experience is preferred.
