Microsoft is hiring an Outside Plant Telecom Engineer to design and engineer outside-plant routing for metro and long-haul connectivity, including dark fiber, long-haul fiber, subsea, and lit-wave circuits. The role collaborates with sourcing, delivery, and fiber providers; maintains cable records; approves vendor designs; conducts site walks, permitting, and quality assurance inspections; analyzes optical fiber test results; and identifies conflicts with existing outside-plant facilities. The position offers a flexible workplace with partial or full remote work and on-site work as needed.
