Description
The PACE Transportation Driver transports ambulatory and non-ambulatory participants, including those in wheelchairs or on stretchers, to various destinations by agency vehicle. The role provides assistance with boarding and alighting, monitors participant needs, operates the vehicle safely, communicates professionally with healthcare personnel and participants with chronic illnesses, maintains accurate records, and may provide services authorized by the PACE Interdisciplinary Team. The position requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing, criminal background check, agency driving test, and one year of experience with the elderly; training in passenger assistance, PCA or CNA, first aid, CPR, and wheelchair lift operations is required, while a CDL with passenger endorsement and radio communication equipment are preferred.
