The Paralegal Specialist supports U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Asset Forfeiture Program by reviewing, analyzing, managing, and adjudicating civil enforcement matters, including seizures, penalties, prior disclosures, immigration carrier fines, and liquidated-damages claims. The role evaluates evidence and mitigating or aggravating factors, ensures due process, and prepares legally sufficient recommendations to mitigate, cancel, or deny forfeiture actions. The position is based in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, pays $89,508 to $116,362 annually, and requires U.S. citizenship, primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years, and one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
