Description

The Paralegal reports to the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and provides support to assigned attorneys and the Law Office. Responsibilities include preparing pleadings, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials; supporting workers’ compensation matters; representing the District at administrative hearings; gathering litigation information; assisting with discovery; maintaining litigation dockets and electronic case files; conducting Westlaw research; and citing briefs. The role requires an associate or bachelor’s degree, at least three or five years of administrative or clerical experience depending on the degree, and at least two years of legal-environment experience. It is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position with access to confidential student and employee information.
