Description
A campus-based paraprofessional/teacher assistant supports a classroom teacher with instructional materials, classroom organization, administrative records, student supervision, curriculum activities, behavior management, and the physical, personal-care, medical, communicative, and emotional needs of students, including students with disabilities. The role requires regular on-site attendance, travel throughout the district, participation in staff development and meetings, and a state paraprofessional certificate. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent plus an associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or a passing academic assessment; teacher-assistant training or related work experience is preferred.
