Description
The Parks Groundskeeper I is a full-time, year-round entry-level position responsible for ballfield maintenance, including dragging ballfields, building pitcher’s mounds, maintaining batter’s boxes, assisting with field renovations, and performing seasonal snow removal, salting, and outdoor ice rink maintenance. The role also supports special-event set-up and take-down and may require weekend rotation and overtime. Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid Illinois driver’s license, and obtain an Illinois Pesticide Public Operator’s license within six months of acceptance; prior ballfield-maintenance experience is preferred. Compensation is $21.00–$22.50 per hour, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
