ACC is hiring a part-time Adoption Counselor to support its open-adoption program by guiding prospective adopters, matching pets with families, processing paperwork and payments, conducting interviews and reference checks, and providing post-adoption follow-up. The role also involves socializing and handling dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, preparing animals for release, and maintaining adoption records. It requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of customer service experience, computer literacy, humane animal-handling skills, and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds. The position offers a flexible schedule of 8–12 hours per week, typically on weekends and early evenings, and is eligible for overtime.
