Description
The part-time Physician, Medical Unit provides diagnosis and treatment for inmate patients, emergency care for staff and visitors, medical histories and physical examinations, diagnostic testing, medication prescribing, medical record documentation, specialty referrals, health counseling, and after-hours or weekend coverage as needed. The role is based at the Otero County Prison Facility’s Medical Unit in Chaparral, New Mexico, pays $150,000 annually, and requires family medicine or internal medicine board certification or admissibility, a New Mexico or compact-state medical license, current DEA and BLS certification, and a valid New Mexico or Texas driver’s license.
