Description
The Power Plant Operator supports the operation of a hydro-electric power plant and associated water intakes by inspecting plant and intake areas, starting and stopping generating units and auxiliary equipment, monitoring safety and security systems, performing maintenance, responding to emergencies, and coordinating contractors. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of related power-plant or industrial experience, instrumentation and control experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in hot, noisy, dark, and isolated environments.
