Description
The Pathology Laboratory Assistant supports the Pathology Manager by performing patient accommodative services, technical procedures, and clerical duties. Responsibilities include specimen pickups, cytology processing, surgical accessioning, and assistance with bone marrow and frozen section specimens, along with knowledge of human tissue types and technical protocols. The role requires physical ability to work for up to eight hours, handle hazardous materials, and lift materials weighing up to 20 pounds. A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant pathology or cytology specimen-processing experience are preferred.
