Description
The Patient Access Representative performs patient registration, scheduling, rescheduling, discharge, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, pre-authorizations, account balancing, payment collection, and electronic health record data entry. The role also provides customer service, handles patient and staff inquiries, and may float to other work areas. A Lead PAR provides team leadership, training, quality audits, scheduling support, and process improvement. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of customer service or office experience for the PAR track, at least one year of healthcare registration or billing experience for the Lead PAR track, American Heart Association BLS certification, and a DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card for listed departments.
