Description
The Patient Access Representative performs patient registration, scheduling, rescheduling, discharge, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, pre-authorizations, account balancing, payment collection, and electronic health record data entry. The role also provides customer service, handles patient and staff inquiries, and may float to other work areas. The Lead PAR variant supervises and trains PAR team members, conducts quality audits, manages staffing, and supports process improvement. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of customer service or office experience for the PAR role, and at least one year of healthcare registration or billing experience for the Lead PAR role; American Heart Association BLS certification is listed, and the role may require a DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card depending on the facility.
