Description
The Patient Access Representative serves as the liaison between patients, families, payers, medical records, and financial services to ensure timely and accurate patient registration, tracking, billing, and revenue-cycle processing. The role verifies and enters demographic information, searches for existing medical records, secures patient accounts, checks insurance benefits and referrals, obtains clinical and financial authorizations, provides liability estimates, and identifies patients eligible for government or charity resources. An H.S. Diploma is required; six months of admissions or registration experience is preferred, with an associate or bachelor’s degree as a possible substitute.
