Description
The Patient Accountant screens self-pay patients at the hospital bedside for eligibility in governmental and non-governmental programs, identifies potential payors, routes accounts, completes financial-clearance and collections activities, follows up on government applications, and assists patients with benefits. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience in social services, hospital admitting, or a related area, familiarity with federal, state, and county programs, and proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word. The position is based at Metrowest Medical Center, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with pay of $20.71 to $30.94 per hour plus possible shift differentials.
