Description
The Patient Care Technician functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population, providing direct and indirect care as part of an interdisciplinary team under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include patient care based on various criteria, ensuring effective outcomes through practice and judgment, communicating with the healthcare team, taking initiative, participating in care planning and performance improvement activities, and performing specific job functions such as welcoming patients, obtaining clinical data, performing venipuncture and EKGs, assisting with patient transport and hygiene, and maintaining a safe patient environment.
