Description
The Phlebotomist collects and processes patient specimens, verifies orders and patient information, enters billing and registration data, labels and prepares specimens, maintains phlebotomy logs, and supports departmental clerical and quality activities. The role requires phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric work, reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while medical or paramedic training and phlebotomy certification are preferred; certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
