Description
The Peer Recovery Coach provides peer coaching and mentoring to clients and graduates of First Step Recovery Programs as part of their discharge continuing-care plan. The role supports recovery through community services, helps remove personal and environmental barriers, connects clients with recovery resources, encourages participation in aftercare appointments, provides referrals, maintains documentation and billing records, and collaborates with internal and external departments. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while certification in Recovery Coaching or Peer-to-Peer Counseling is preferred; knowledge of substance abuse treatment, community resources, advocacy, and strong interpersonal skills are also required.
