CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is hiring a full-time Peer Support Specialist for its Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams (MCORT) in Newark, New Jersey, serving Middlesex and Union counties. The role responds to 988 crisis center dispatches and provides peer-based crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety planning, linkage to community mental health services, and follow-up support for adults in crisis. The position requires lived experience, at least two years of continuous recovery from a serious mental illness or substance use disorder diagnosis, a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant mental health work experience, and a valid New Jersey driver's license.
