River AI is hiring a Hardware Performance Engineer to architect, model, and correlate high-performance custom silicon for AI accelerators and SoCs. The role develops C++ and SystemC simulators, explores microarchitectural changes, characterizes AI kernels, performs HW/SW co-design, validates models against RTL and pre-silicon emulators, and analyzes system bottlenecks. Candidates need a relevant bachelor’s degree, at least five years of advanced-process-node experience, strong C/C++ or SystemC skills, compiler and kernel knowledge, and computer-architecture expertise. The position is based in Austin, Texas or Palo Alto, California, with an expected annual salary of $200,000–$420,000 USD plus equity, visa sponsorship, and health, dental, vision, PTO, and relocation benefits.
