Description
The Permitting Engineer performs professional engineering work for a Road Department, including permitting, right-of-way management, traffic-control review, site evaluations, inspections, coordination with contractors and agencies, and oversight of permit-processing staff. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and progressively more responsible experience for MC Road Grades 5, 6, or 7; Professional Engineer registration in Michigan is preferred. The position is office-based with travel throughout the county.
