Description

Bosch is seeking a doctoral candidate to develop a reusable, cartridge-compatible microfluidic sample preparation unit based on magnetic beads for next-generation molecular diagnostics. The project involves reviewing magnetic-particle manipulation literature, developing multiphysics models with COMSOL, designing and prototyping a microfluidic handling module, testing recovery, process time, and reproducibility, and translating results into design rules for disposable diagnostic cartridges. The role requires a master’s degree in a relevant biomedical or engineering field, knowledge of microfluidics and multiphysics simulation, practical experience with lab-on-a-chip systems, strong German and English skills, and independent research capability. The project starts in October 2026.
