Description
The University of Southern Denmark is hiring a 3-year PhD fellow to research reversible programming languages and their application to energy-efficient cyber-physical systems, including perching drones and IoT devices. The role involves implementing reversible algorithms, integrating software into simulated systems, estimating energy consumption, analyzing energy savings against I/O characteristics, and publishing results. It is based at the SDU Drone Center in Odense, with secondments planned at the University of Bologna and the University of Manchester, and is funded under the European Union's Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks programme. Applicants need an MSc in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, and the preferred start date is 1 January 2027.
