Description
The Bergische University Wuppertal is seeking two full-time PhD-qualifying research assistants in the Massive Data Processing research group within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The role focuses on scalable machine learning, foundation models, representation learning, self-supervised, contrastive, continual, and label-scarce learning, as well as research projects, publications, and supervision of tutorials, courses, and student projects. Candidates need a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, strong machine learning and programming skills, and very good English; German to B2 is expected within two years. The position is fixed-term for up to three years, with an application deadline of 05.10.2026, and is based in Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia.
