Description
Uppsala University is seeking a PhD student to contribute to an international research project developing anode-free sodium batteries with polymer electrolytes at the Ångström Advanced Battery Centre. The role involves experimental work in polymer science, materials chemistry, electrochemistry, and spectroscopy, including materials development, battery-cell assembly, electrochemical testing, and XPS analysis, with possible research visits to the Taiwanese project partner and up to 20% participation in teaching and departmental work. Applicants need a second-cycle degree in chemistry, physics, or materials science, or equivalent higher-education qualifications, plus strong English skills; experience with battery fabrication, electrochemical characterization, advanced materials analysis, polymer materials, and polymer electrolytes is desirable. The position is full-time, fixed-term, and based in Uppsala, with a starting date of January 11, 2027, or as agreed.
