Description
DESY is hiring a part-time PhD student in Zeuthen to contribute to an optical atomic clock experiment searching for ultralight dark matter. The role involves developing test infrastructure for clock comparison and frequency stabilisation, building instrumentation for measuring fundamental constants, participating in clock-based experiments at partner institutions, and analysing and interpreting atomic clock data. Candidates should have a relevant physics master's degree or equivalent, experience in detector physics and computer programming, strong English, and willingness to travel. The position starts on 01.01.2027 and offers a monthly salary of 67% of the payment of remuneration group 13 TVöD.
