Description
The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick procedures in hospital laboratory, outpatient, and off-site settings; verifies and labels specimens, prioritizes STAT draws, transports specimens, maintains equipment and supplies, and supports patient and employee training. The role requires successful completion of phlebotomy training and internship or equivalent, with high school education, one year of full-time experience, and National Phlebotomy Association certification or eligibility preferred. The schedule is full-time primary hours from 9:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with every third weekend rotation from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and two scheduled holidays per year.
