Description
The hospital-based Phlebotomist performs venipunctures, fingersticks, and specimen collection for laboratory procedures, ensuring correct patient identification, labeling, processing, delivery, and adherence to laboratory safety and universal-precaution standards. The role also includes clerical and quality-improvement duties, maintaining equipment and work areas, meeting routine and urgent collection deadlines, supporting team operations, and assisting with training under supervision. A high school diploma or GED and one year of phlebotomy experience are preferred; no license or certification is required.
